The article observes current trends and prospects for the study of handprints as a source of non-verbal evidentiary information. The author views the description of contemporary possibilities of using the latest capabilities of the information search engines, tools and methods for investigating handprints in the practical activities of experts based on an integrated approach to the study of physical evidence. Improving the effectiveness of fingerprint examinations and forensic accounting checks depends on the quality and completeness of the removal and examination of handprints detected on various surfaces, as well as on the capabilities of the new generation software used. Modern methods of investigating trace information using advanced coding algorithms and artificial intelligence technologies are analyzed. The proposed solutions are aimed at improving forensic activities in terms of fingerprint registration and will lead to a reduction in the labor costs of specialists and experts in the formation, maintenance and use of forensic records, in addition in the production of fingerprint examinations.
