The legislation of many countries suggests the need to conduct examinations both inside and outside the expert organization. The main problem of performing this task at the crime scene, at a checkpoint or in court is the lack of technical capabilities similar to laboratory ones. The authors of the article with the use of portable spectrometer-microscope " Regula 5006" tested the possibility of solving several required tasks in the field: determination of printing techniques of questioned banknotes, determination of their authenticity, analysis of printing quality and comparison of color characteristics of inks with the use of spectrometer to solve the question of a single source of origin of counterfeits. The use of a 3D visualization module and various light sources to establish the sequence of intersecting handwritten strokes between themselves and the laser printer text is also demonstrated. In addition, the handwritten document shows the detection of alteration in the handwritten document by means of the exploration of differences in morphological features of the strokes (dye distribution, shade, width, etc.). The reliability of the obtained results was subsequently confirmed with the help of laboratory methods, which confirm the possibility of conducting examinations in the field and positively affects the correctness and efficiency of decision-making.
