In the article the notion and subject matter of a legal status of a deputy of a representative body of power are given. Considering basic features of a legal position of deputies of all levels of representative power and examining elements of their legal status, the author comes to a conclusion that there are some serious drawbacks in a legal status of the State Duma’s deputies and the Council of Federation’s members which can essentially deform the sum and substance of the people’s deputy’s position.
