The article concentrates on the process of preparation and conduct of experimental research to determine the frequency of occurrence and identification significance of handwriting specific features. The results of the experiment were considered as the basis for developing the modern stochastic and statistical method of evaluation of handwriting specific features in manuscripts of average and large size written in usual conditions. The author briefly describes the algorithm of application of the method when conducting forensic handwriting examinations.
