In the frames of the articles the questions connected with the usage of the formulations describing the technical means in the Criminal Code are examined. The attempt is taken to determine the group belonging to the technical means. The author underlines the essential means such as providing pre-trial and after trial technical means support to gather evidence. The latest technical means classifications are studied in the research. The comparative analyze defines the majority of the means have the criminal aspect in their formation. The author shows the necessity of focusing on the procedural foundation of creating classifications in the frames of criminal justice system. An attempt of grouping technical means is taken according to the aim of the trial. The certain group is determined - technical means of communication.
