The perception of the system of law and the system of legislation as a correlation of the form and the content may be constructive. But the use of the division into genders and kinds derived from the hierarchy of notions interferes with it. It's not admissible to establish the equality of law and legislation when comparing them through the correlation of the form and content. But the correlation of the form and the content makes it possible to use them when comparing the law and legislation under another approach. It's based on the use of peculiarities of informative and linguistic nature of law. This provides the grounds to analyze law through the pattern of the semiotic triangle by G. Frege, Ch. K. Ogden, A. A. Richards. Within the frames of this pattern it's possible to distinguish the sign of law, the designatum and the denotatum of law. The legislation will be the referent (the sign) of law, precisely the referent of the object language of law. The designatum of law is interpreted from the semantic, not linguistic point of view which leads to the social context of creating the designatum. It makes it possible to remove the priority of the descriptive interpretation of linguistic statements and after Dj.L. Ostin find the designatum of legal regulations.
