The article deals with the problems of prevention of regional recidivism from both scientific and practical points of view. While studying the presented problem, special attention is paid to the conceptual apparatus used in this paper, in particular, the terms "recedive crime" and "crime prevention"are studied in detail. On the basis of the study of the array of materials of the Main Departemment of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia of the Altai territory, the socio-economic situation in the country, the existing legal framework governing the acts of the state to prevent recedive crime, the authors analyze in detail and criticize the existing set of measures aimed at preventing re-crime in the region. The authors come to the conclusion that in the complex programs adopted and currently in force, the need to combat recidivism is often only declared, but the real picture shows the criticality of the problem and the need for early intervention by the state.
