The article considers current aspects of enforcement of proceeding costs in criminal justice. The study focuses on the analysis to arrest property as a means to enforce these costs. The authors analyze the current criminal procedure legislation thoroughly and identify existing gaps in the legal regulation of the grounds and application of this procedural enforcement measure. Particular attention is paid to determine the factual basis to arrest property in order to enforce the procedural costs. The authors analyze practical issues of implementing mentioned institution, including problems with costing, difficulties when enforcing them and applied measures, which are not efficient enough. Based on this analysis, the authors suggest some specific means to solve the identified problems and improve law enforcement practice. The scientific originality of the research is to develop some theoretical concepts and practical advice for improving the mechanism to enforce proceeding costs in criminal proceedings, and its results can be used in lawmaking activities, educational process and in practice of bodies of criminal proceedings.
