The article is devoted to the issue studied in the theory of criminal law not sufficiently. The studies on the unification of criminal legislation on responsibility for some types of offences, as a rule, are not involved in a detailed analysis of the concept and aspects of the unification as such; there are very few fundamental works on this issue. Based on the results of scientific research in the sphere of general theory of law and branch legal sciences, the author defines the unification of criminal legislation as the achievement of uniformity in criminal regulation and criminal enforcement of public relations as the subject of criminal law made by the legislator. The author states that such aspects of unification of criminal legislation as levels, directions, conditions, ba-ses and results are identified in the science of criminal law. The author indicates that not all the listed aspects of the unification have an independent character; some of them are almost identical to others. The author con-cludes that the scientific research on the criminal legislation unification would be optimal from the perspective of its features such as levels, bases, results and means.
