The article focuses on the recent changes and amendments made in the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation by the Federal Law No. 18-FZ passed on March 1, 2012 concerning standards regulating responsibility for crimes connected with illegal drug trafficking. On the basis of the conducted analysis the authors represent their own evaluation of the new regulatory prescriptions, make proposals and give recommendations on their further improvement.
