The article shows the way the mass historical consciousness and historical memory were distorted by mass media and school textbooks in Perestrioka-time and Post-Soviet Russia through the example of the Russian history including the distortion of historical facts. The author points out objective and subjective causes of this phenomenon. It is especially related to the personality of Joseph V. Stalin and the Stalin’s period of the Soviet power.
