The article focuses on the problem of determining the causes of ethnic crime in Russia. The special attention is paid to the study of political-legal factors in the system of determining connections of ethnic crime. The author finds out the content of negative right-establishing, right-exercising, and law-enforcement factors being in causal connection with ethnic crime. The recommendations on how to minimize the effect of these factors are represented.
