The author analyzes reasonable methods of physical training for cadets and attendees of higher educational institutions of the Ministry of Interior of Russia using means of hand-to-hand fighting. This fighting system is unique because while fighting conditions of real actions are simulated to the uttermost. Such a counteraction of two contestants on the fighting ground has an immediate character when a level of mental tension is equal to that a police officer feels during a physical contact with a criminal while detaining him. At the present time, instructors pay too little attention to studying fisticuffs and kicks as well as to studying how to hit back. Therefore, such an integrated system as hand-to-hand fighting will allow increasing the level of combat training of cadets and attendees of higher educational institutions of the Ministry of Interior of Russia in the shortest time possible.
