The authors of the article pay attention to the fact that successful protection of public order and security during mass public activities to a great extent depends on precise, consistent and task-oriented activity of the operative headquarters, on the knowledge, skills and competence of the officers. Studies of the legal basis for interior bodies’ activity on protection of public order and security during mass public events show that it’s necessary to promote legal regulation of this important field of activity; psychological aspects of citizens’ behavior and tactical actions of interior bodies’ personnel under conditions of mass public events reveal the necessity to provide special training for the personnel. To successfully prepare interior bodies’ personnel for solving operative- service tasks on public order protection it’s necessary to conduct various theoretical as well as practical training. So as to provide conditions most similar to those of special events and improve effectiveness of training it’s reasonable to use a drill ground, crowded places, facilities, transport vehicles or their mock-ups, special means and technical equipment.
