«THE SOUND OF STALINGRAD» IN K. M. SIMONOV CREATIVE WORK

Abstract (English):
Our country celebrated this year the 70-th anniversary of our victory in the Great Patriotic War and Stalingrad Battle was one of the most stages therein. Soviet army victory in Stalingrad Battle laid the foundation of the turning point in Stalingrad Battle and World War II in general. No wonder that this event which attracted and is still attracting the attention of historians and cultural workers has found worthy reflection not only in military and historical literature but in fiction as well both during the war time and in the course of the post-war years. Creative activity of a famous soviet writer K. M. Simonov is closely connected with Stalingrad theme; in September 1942 he arrived in the fighting city on the Volga river as military correspondent of “Red Star” newspaper and dedicated his series of essays to heroic feat of Stalingrad defenders. The story “Days and Nights” by K. M. Simonov was his next work to reverberate heroic deeds of Volga river stronghold defenders. The novel “No One Is Born a Soldier” became a new milestone in author’s creative interpretation of Stalingrad Battle episodes. K. M. Simonov works of art describing Stalingrad Battle are valuable study guide for young generation in the spirit of patriotism and love to Motherland upbringing.
