The article deals with the issues related to the assessment of the forensic psychiatric examination conclusions that are of professional interest for the preliminary investigation bodies officials. The assessment of the propriety and reliability of the forensic psychiatric examination conclusions is rather difficult for the officials responsible for investigation, who have no special knowledge in the field of psychiatry. Based on the analysis of the trials and acting criminal-procedural legislation the author gives recommendations to carry out this work in his article. Mentioned recommendations are aimed at the process to exclude mistakes while assessing the propriety and reliability of the forensic psychiatric examination conclusion made by the officials responsible for investigation and, as a result, providing the inevitability to impose a punishment for the persons being guilty for committing crimes.
