Location of missing persons is one of the interior bodies' duties. The objects of detection are persons who suddenly disappear from the permanent place of residence without obvious reasons. Their location and fate remain unknown and a complex of detective activities conducted by the operative units of the interior bodies is necessary for these persons' detection. In some cases disappearance of citizens is closely connected with crimes committed against them. As a result, the task of the interior bodies and detection units in particular is to identify the reason of the person's unknown disappearance in the shortest period of time and take measures to detect him/her, using the forces, means and methods of detective activity. The emergence of such problems is connected with existence of gaps and conflicts in legal regulation of detective activities' implementation what makes it necessary to further study suggestions on improvement of the detective legislation, the use of successful experience of different regions, enhancement of interaction among detection units of police.
