At present, the issue of ensuring national security is one of the key issues in the activities of any state. The threat of terrorism coming from the Middle East (the activities of the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant, banned in Russia) not only destroys the economy of many countries of the world, but also sows fear and panic among citizens, undermines the authority of state authorities. A series of terrorist attacks in Europe in 2015-2018 showed that the policy and practice of countering terrorism in the countries of the European Union is failing, and the migration legislation is in crisis. In this article the author reviews a number of normative legal acts adopted recently in the Russian Federation aimed at countering terrorism; analyzes the ways of countering terrorism in our country, suggests some measures to improve the legislative regulation of anti-terrorist activities.
