Abstract and keywords
Abstract:
The article continues a series of publications on the personality traits of thieves in law, taking into account the nationality of the criminals. The research material was the personal data and fingerprint cards of 20 thieves in law of Russian nationality. The methods of chronobiology, fingerprinting, forensic anthropology, and statistics were used. It was found that the majority of the surveyed persons were born in small settlements, from April to September, which is associated with the seasonal lifestyle in northern latitudes. The average age of criminals at the time of the "coronation" is 32 years. The number of convictions ranges from 1 to 10. Crimes were most often associated with hooliganism, harm to health, theft, drug trafficking, robbery. In half of the cases, death occurred prematurely from violent causes (gunshot injury, hanging, etc.) or from diseases associated with intoxication (poisoning, cirrhosis of the liver). The most common fingerprint formula is "1-1". In comparison with population data, the frequency of curl patterns in fingerprints is increased with a decrease in arc patterns. Scars (mainly on the index and thumbs) and white dots were relatively common. Based on a comparative analysis with the characteristics characteristic of thieves in law of other nationalities, the general group characteristics of this category of criminals, as well as features related to the ethno-territorial affiliation of criminals, are established.
