The article presents the design characteristics of the air rifle "Hatsan 70" (Turkey) as well as 4.5-mm lead bullets for it - Öztay Diabolo and Crosman Domed Ultra Magnum. Based on the experimental shooting carried out by the author, the features of the shot marks on targets made of white cotton calico, sheets of thin plastic and tin were revealed. The author points out the absence of a "defect" (minus) material in the structure of damage on calico targets. An explanation is also given for the unusual pattern of intensive deposition of lead-oil suspension on targets made of calico, which looks like soot from a firearm shot in cases of shooting from an air rifle, the bore of which is covered with rifle oil. The dependence of the characteristics of the main and additional rifle shot traces on the design of the 4.5-mm Öztay Diabolo and Crosman Domed Ultra Magnum bullets used for shooting has been established. In this regard, it is pointed out the difference in the size and morphology of the damage formed by the specified bullet samples, the maximum deposition distances on the objects of damage to lead-oil suspension, zones of intense abrasion of the edges of damage by a bullet. Öztay Diabolo bullets, which are more prone to deformation, determine the characteristics of shot marks deposited on obstacles, which are increased compared to Crosman Domed Ultra Magnum bullets. The revealed criminally significant information about the 4.5-mm air rifle "Hatsan 70" and traces of its use are designed to contribute to the effectiveness of forensic ballistic examinations, the disclosure and investigation of crimes in general.
