he article considers the possibilities of using Bayesian approach in forensic document examination. Some advantages of this approach are shown in the part of objectivization of conclusions formed by the results of objects examination by applying prior and posterior probabilities, likelihood ratio and additional data. On the example of handwritten documents examination within the framework of conducted forensic handwriting examinations, the order of application of Bayesian logic rules at different stages of expert investigation is demonstrated in the process of the following actions: construction of a version about the possibility of handwriting execution by a certain executor; study and evaluation of handwriting features in the examined manuscript and submitted handwriting samples; formulating a final conclusion based on the results of conducted examination. Proceeding from the conditions and possible circumstances of application of Bayesian logic in the process of expert research, a table of conclusions is drawn up, the basis for differentiation of which is a verbal description of the probability of occurrence of a certain event and its numerical value.
