Abstract:
The article discusses the issues of assessing and using the conclusion of a forensic handwriting examination of manuscripts of foreign language graphic composition in criminal proceedings. The opinion is expressed that the basic legal requirements for the assessment of evidence apply in full to the assessment of the conclusion of a forensic handwriting examination of foreign language manuscripts. At the same time, it is necessary to take into account the specifics of this process, which consists in a consistent assessment of the results of a comprehensive linguistic and forensic handwriting study according to the criteria of admissibility, relevance, reliability and sufficiency for resolving the case. It is concluded that in criminal proceedings, facts established by forensic handwriting examination of foreign language manuscripts are used during special events before the initiation of a criminal case, preliminary investigation and trial. They have evidentiary and guiding value in establishing the event and corpus delicti, the involvement of certain persons in it, and other circumstances of the case. On their basis, operational search activities and investigative actions are also carried out, and judicial decisions are made.
