The main factors determining the nature of the damage are the type of weapon that caused it and the mechanism of its action. For film materials, the type of the material itself is no less important. Due to the fact that the sites with different supramolecular structures are located in the film material (polymer) chaotically, the tear line of the film material is a sinuous line with varying degrees of elongation - the amount of residual deformation. The combination of film and woven materials in artificial leather leads to the fact that when it breaks, the rigid adhesion of the woven-based film does not allow it to stretch to the values possible in the free state. When the material is applied along the rupture line, the lower, woven layer is combined, on the upper, polymer, there is a small "plus" of the material. When solving the diagnostic task of determining the direction of action of the applied force, it is possible only with a certain degree of probability. If the rupture on the film material and artificial leather occurred due to the clamping of the material, for example, with pliers, followed by its translational movement, then the external signs of the working surfaces are displayed on the film material and on the artificial leather. This makes it possible to solve not only diagnostic, but also identification tasks in the presence of a tool or tool.
