The hyperspectral analysis method considered in this article is one of the modern non-destructive methods of studying the properties of objects. The method is based on the analysis of the reflected signal, the strength of which is determined by the properties of the examined object. This allows for determining its characteristics and comparing it with reference samples to establish their identity. The possibilities of the method have been adopted in various fields, including forensic analysis. Thus, Regula company has introduced this tool into the product line of video spectral comparators in the form of a hyperspectral analysis module. The article demonstrates the capabilities of this module, the ways of recording the results of the examination and the peculiarities of their interpretation. The practical examples illustrate some of the tasks of technical examination of documents, in which the tool in question can assist forensic experts. The results of a comparative examination of inks in handwritten records and dyes in printing products are demonstrated, allowing for conclusions about changes to the initial content of records and the use of various dyes in the printing.
