The article analyzes the possible impact of the professional standard "Forensic expert" on the practice of technical, forensic and forensic support for the disclosure and investigation of crimes and other offenses, the ratio of the professional and educational standard of a forensic expert. It is shown that the draft professional standard "Specialist in the field of forensic examination", submitted for approval to the Ministry of Labor of the Russian Federation, has many significant shortcomings, contradicts the interests of the country's law enforcement system and needs to be radically revised. Proposals for improving this project and the requirements that a high-quality professional standard must meet are formulated.
