The article, based on the analysis of the causes and conditions of interdepartmental contradictions in the process of the emergence and development of criminalistics and forensic examination in Russia, concludes that the system of organization and legal regulation of forensic and forensic activities does not correspond to the level of technology development and the tasks of identifying, disclosing and investigating high-tech crimes; justifies the need for program-targeted support for the development and implementation of adequate methods, means and organizational and legal forms of their use in the activities of law enforcement agencies.
