In the article one of the leading competences of a specialist i.e. information competence is considered. The author reveals the connection of information competence with the problem of a personality’s cognitive interest in the field of studying and applying a computer. On the basis of a structurally functional model of the cognitive interest he suggests educational cognitive tasks of information and research character and their classification as reasonable means and methods of its forming.
