The content of crime investigators’, forensic experts’ and operations officers’ informational competencies, defined by federal state educational standards of higher professional education, is analyzed in the article. Also similarities and differences in their descriptions are explained. As a methodology of forming informational competencies of specialists of institutions of internal affairs there is the following system of regulations offered: accentuation of beyond-subject components - motivational, reflexive and creative - in the content of competencies; review of informational and educational environment, in interaction with which informational competencies of specialists of institutions of internal affairs will be developing, as the subject of pedagogical projecting; presentation of probable situational differences in behavior and activities of specialists in informational and educational environment and corresponding levels of informational competencies formedness; defining adequate diagnostic procedures of evaluating informational competencies formedness; interpreting educator’s activity as pedagogical support of the process of specialist’s competence development in interaction with informational and educational environment; concretizing environment conditions required for students with different levels of informational competencies formedness.
