THE LEVEL OF THE PUBLIC SATISFACTION WITH PUBLIC SERVICES (BASED ON THE SOCIOLOGICAL RESEARCH OF INHABITANTS OF VOLGOGRAD)

Abstract (English):
The article discusses the results of the sociological research conducted in Volgograd which make possible to evaluate the degree of the significance of the whole range of public services and the level of citizens’ satisfaction with them. The goals of the article are to estimate the degree of the importance of various public services provided for the community; to obtain data about the level of satisfaction, to study the main problems in the sphere of public services’ provision. According to the sociological research date the level of the Volgograd region consumers’ satisfaction with pubic services is said to be low. Since the notion of „public services“ encompasses such concepts as „state services“ and „municipal ones“, it is linked to the notion of „public authority“, and therefore is directly related to the goals, objectives and results of activities of the state and municipal authorities. Public services provided by public authority are of great public and social importance. Therefore the main task of the government is to solve the issues related to ensuring a decent life for citizens, i.e. to provide quality public services.
