In the article the Road Map of criminal law policy of Russia for the period from 2017 to 2025 developed by the Strategic Research Centre and presented at parliamentary sessions of the Council of Federation in April, 2017 is analyzed. The author estimates this concept of domestic criminal law policy, points out its advantages and disadvantages. The current state of the domestic Criminal Law is characterized by the lack of the conceptual foundations of its formation clearly designated and adopted at the appropriate level. It results in introduction of numerous incoherent and sometimes contradictory changes into the acting Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. It is obvious that the process of correction of the situation is impossible without development and adoption of the special document to clarify the medium term perspective of the domestic criminal law development. The author concludes the developed Road Map to be important and necessary document containing many advanced statutes and rational ideas to give a new impulse to the development of Criminal Law and criminal-legal doctrine of the Russian Federation, without any doubt, while being applied.
