The article deals with the organization of project activities of students of higher educational institutions. The potential of this type activity for full development of the individual has been revealed. The analysis of works of foreign and domestic scientists on the problem of project-based learning. It is revealed that the project method has a long history, but it has not lost its relevance in the present time. Such concepts as «design», «project method», «educational project», «project activity» are un The stages of project activity organization are singled out, general educational skills are listed, which are formed in the course of its realization among the students. The article presents methodical recommendations on the organization of project activities, describes the requirements for this type of activity. The importance of applying the project activity for the formation of professional competencies of future specialists is noted. The effectiveness of solutions to educational problems depend on the ways of organizing this activity.
