Abstract (English):
The inalienable task of the officials conducting the preliminary investigation and the court making the decisions on the merits is to correctly and fully reflect the results of their activities in the procedural documents. An important role is played by their ability to adequately use all the possibilities of Russian written speech. In this article, the authors reveal the significance of the language and style of drafting procedural documents of the criminal case, give examples of the most common mistakes. One of the reasons for the inaccuracies in the preparation of procedural documents is the inability to use synonyms, paronyms, terms, polysemantic words and homonyms. In procedural documents, verbosity or verbal redundancy is often encountered, which sometimes leads to distortion of the thought, may lead to a mistaken judgment and form a certain idea of the person who has used it.
