Analysis of regional crime in modern Russia is an important attribute of criminological research, because to effectively organize crime prevention it is necessary to analyze general data on Russia as well as criminological peculiarities of its constituent entities. It's possible to distinguish among them the socio-economic situation in the country and region, the state of interethnic and inter-confessional relations, the presence of conflicts resulting from them, peculiarities of law enforcement activity and other factors. The given article provides analysis of crime indicators in such constituent entities of the Russian Federation as the Volgograd Region and the Republic of Dagestan. Taking into account ethnic diversity of the given entities the authors focus their attention on the influence of religious and pseudo-religious destructive studies on the crime level in the regions. As stated in the article, the classical religion is unable to incite the community to commission of crimes. On the contrary, its purpose is to deter believers from illegal actions. Pseudo-religious destructive studies often promote deviant aggressive behavior and therefore are banned in many countries of the world.
