The Constitution of the Russian Federation, adopted on December 12, 1993 provides that everyone has the right to own, use and dispose of property. Besides, it protects the right to private property. However, the criminal procedure law in its norms provides the circumstances by which these or that constitutional rights of citizens may be limited. The concept and the essence of imposition of arrest on property as measures of criminal procedure compulsion of a security nature are viewed in the Article. The possibility to identify the imposition of arrest on property as investigative actions had been under discussion in the Science of criminal procedural law for a long time. The author analyzed the positions of scientists-processualists who participated in the abovementioned discussion. Also the concepts of investigative action are given both widely and narrowly in the Article. In addition the Article offers the author's definition of the concept of the imposition of arrest on property as measures of criminal procedure compulsion of a security nature of warning character.
