The article presents the result of the study of investigative expert practice, reflecting the positive experience of interaction between subjects of the use and application of special knowledge in the investigation of crimes in the field of information and communication technologies. The authors use practical examples to demonstrate the effectiveness of a non-expert form of using special knowledge, which in some cases contributes to the rational selection of objects for subsequent computer examination, and in some cases eliminates the need for research activities in connection with the establishment of necessary information about the circumstances of the committed illegal act in the process of pre-expert assessment of available materials. It is concluded that the coordination of the activities of the subjects of the investigation with the specialists of the forensic units in direct or remote mode ensures the establishment of the necessary data and their sources, which reduces the time of criminal proceedings by eliminating the need for individual investigative actions and operational search measures.
