The article examines the features of the introduction of artificial intelligence technologies into forensic expertise, which is due to the digital transformation of public life and the emergence of new research objects in this regard. The analysis of expert practice revealed the positive and negative sides inherent in the use of artificial intelligence technologies. Examples of programs and technologies that are at the experimental stage of use by forensic experts are given. The errors that occur when an expert uncritically perceives the results of using artificial intelligence are indicated.
