Inspection of the scene under adverse meteorological conditions can cause certain difficulties in terms of detection, fixation, seizure and preliminary investigation of traces of a crime. The reasons for the low efficiency of inspections of accident sites in these conditions are negatively affecting natural factors: various kinds of precipitation, wind, negative temperature. As a result of the study, the influence of a set of factors on the information content of the signs displayed in the footwear sole traces found on various substrates was established. Degree of influence of negative factors at various meteorological conditions on completeness of signs in footwear soles traces is revealed. The procedure for working with footwear traces was carried out, as well as means for detecting, fixing and removing footwear traces under unfavorable meteorological conditions. Experimental studies have revealed a set of modern methods for detecting, fixing and removing (copying) footwear traces in adverse meteorological conditions. The results of the study can be used by practical workers of forensic units of the internal affairs bodies of the Russian Federation when working with footwear in adverse meteorological conditions.
