The article presents the results of experimental studies aimed at identifying the correlation between the dimensional parameters of the braking distance in cases of emergency braking when driving an electric scooter on the weight of persons driving personal mobility devices and the types of road surface. Key aspects have been identified that have a significant impact on the braking distance of an electric scooter, falling into the category of forensically significant information for the investigation of crimes committed with the participation of personal mobility devices: the type and condition of the road surface, the body weight of the persons operating the personal mobility devices, the degree of wear electric scooter tires, type of emergency braking applied. As part of the calculation of the personal mobility devices movement parameters, formulas proposed in domestic and foreign information and reference literature were used to determine the speed of the vehicle before the start of braking, as well as at the time of the traffic accident. The use of most formulas does not confirm the expediency of their use to determine the speed of electric scooters, since their results do not coincide with the results of experimental studies. Practical recommendations have been generated on the possibility of determining the speed of an electric scooter before the start of emergency braking, intended to provide information support for the production of automotive technical and transport-traceological expert studies.
