The assessment of comprehensibility of translation in court hearings and the written translation of procedural documents subject to mandatory delivery to the suspect, the accused, as well as other participants in criminal proceedings, is faced with the lack of an appropriate methodology and criteria. In order to solve the problem, a classification of languages of translation, types of misunderstanding of texts have been developed - conditional, unconditional and feigned. A method for assessing the mutual intelligibility of languages using "mirror" tables and glottochronology is proposed. The feigned misunderstanding of translation by the accused and the unprofessionalism of court interpreters are common in forensic investigative practice. For their expert assessment, if necessary, methods have been developed to refute the feigned misunderstanding and the reasons for the real misunderstanding of the translation are indicated. The hermeneutic and memetic approaches to the technology of judicial translation are outlined. Based on the memetics of translation as an adequate tool, using the mathematical theory of fuzzy sets, a formal mathematical model of the judicial translation process is shown, consisting of four levels. The formal-logical principles of the methodology for quantitative assessment of the comprehensibility of judicial translation are derived. The conclusions drawn are illustrated with examples.
