The topic of the study is relevant due to the fact that in the Russian Federation the problems of the relationship between forensic and expert forensic activities are widely discussed. The need is outlined and ways to reorganize these two related activities by improving their individual areas are shown. The goal is to study the problems of forensic activity and expert-criminalistic activity, the possibility of improving their organizational, legal and methodological foundations. The research used methods of systemic-structural, comparative-legal and statistical analysis, formal-logical, general scientific and special scientific methods of scientific knowledge. Based on an analysis of expert practice, the need to reform both types of activities was proven in order to increase the efficiency of forensic and forensic expert support of legal proceedings. The results of the study can be used in the activities of forensic and forensic organizations, during training and advanced training courses for forensic experts and forensic specialists, when working to improve legislation on forensic activities in the Russian Federation. Recommendations for the reorganization of forensic and forensic activities will improve both types of activities, which will ultimately lead to an improvement in the quality of forensic examinations and legal proceedings in general.
