The article examines the key aspects of the methodology for evaluating expert opin-ions in cases involving crimes under articles 228, 2281 and 234 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. Particular attention is paid to the relevance, admissibility and reliability of expert conclusions as evidence in criminal proceedings. The author analyzes the criteria that determine the quality and validity of expert findings, as well as identifies potential errors and violations that may occur during the examination process. The role of the defense attorney in evaluating expert opinions is explored, including the use of specialized knowledge, analysis of expert methodologies and formulating arguments to challenge expert conclusions. The article provides practi-cal recommendations for developing a methodology that enables defense attorneys to effectively analyze and dispute expert opinions. The materials presented in the article may be useful for lawyers, attorneys, investigators and specialists in the field of criminal law and forensic examination, aiming to improve the quality of defense for the accused and the objectivity of judicial proceedings.
