This article discusses some typical activity errors in forensic construction and technical expertise related to objective reasons for the discrepancy between the applied standards and the goals and objectives of forensic expertise. If in all areas of forensic expert activity there is a lack of reference methods and special standards, then in construction and technical expertise the standards of the technical regulation system for general construction purposes are used. The system of construction regulation in the Russian Federation is unique and is distinguished by its completeness, scientific elaboration and a huge volume of existing norms and rules covering all areas of construction activity. But, at the same time, this system of technical norms and methods is designed to ensure the quality of construction by all available means, which coincides with the goal and objectives of forensic expertise only partially. Differences in goal setting create the basis for the emergence of typical errors in expert opinions in the content of construction methods and standards. The author provides an analysis of scientific literature with an assessment of causality both in forensic practice in general and in construction and technical expertise in particular. As an effective measure to prevent and eliminate this type of typical error, it is proposed to reformat the current general construction system of regulatory control into a special forensic system of standards.
